Actress Arya Banerjee was found dead yesterday (11th December) at her residence at Jodhpur Park in Calcutta. She was 33. Her body was found lying on the floor covered with blood and vomit. The exact reason for her death was not known. The police is investigating. Her body was sent for a forensic examination. The forensic team also collected samples from her room.
Arya had played the character of actress Shakeela in The Dirty Picture with Vidya Balan, Naseeruddin Shah, Tusshar Kapoor and Emraan Hashmi. She was also seen in LSD: Love Sex Aur Dhokha.
Arya’s maid alerted the neighbours when the actress did not answer the door bell and the phone. The police, who were called in by the neighbours, had to break open the door of her third-floor apartment in which she used to live alone. Arya was quite a loner and did not interact much with anybody. She was the daughter of late sitarist Nikhil Bandyopadhyay.
