Zee has acquired the entire rights of Salman Khan’s Radhe. Although the agreement is yet to be signed, sealed and delivered, all the terms have been finalised. And since the meeting was held between Salman and Punit Goenka themselves, signing of the agreement now remains a formality that needs to be completed.

It is heard that the deal was finalised a few days back. Zee has reportedly bought the India and Overseas theatrical, digital, satellite and music rights of the Salman starrer for a whopping price of around Rs. 211 crore. An insider revealed that the price for the worldwide rights of the film is between Rs. 200 and 220 crore. Undoubtedly, this is so far the biggest deal finalised post-lockdown.

Since Zee has paid such a humongous price, it can safely be concluded that Radhe will definitely have a theatrical release before it is streamed on OTT. There were talks a couple of months back that the much-anticipated film might premiere on a streaming platform by bypassing the cinema platform. That now doesn’t seem to be the case, considering that a hefty price of over Rs. 200 crore has been paid for all rights including theatrical.

It may be recalled that Radhe, directed by Prabhudeva, was to have released on Eid this year but thanks to the pandemic lockdown, all release schedules were thrown out of gear. It is likely to now hit the screens on Eid 2021.

The biggest deal in the film industry, so far, after the pandemic lockdown, has been finalised between Salman Khan and Punit Goenka.
