HRITHIK’S STATEMENT RECORDED IN FAKE E-MAIL CASE | 28 February, 2021

Hrithik Roshan’s staement was recorded yesterday (February 27) by the Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) of the crime branch of Bombay police in a case of impersonation that he had filed five years ago. Hrithik had filed a complaint against an unidentified person for allegedly creating a fake email account in his (Hrithik Roshan) name, and for using the same to send multiple messages to Kangana Ranaut in 2013 and 2014.

The actor was at the Bombay police headquarters at Crawford Market in Bombay for three hours. The case was earlier being probed by officials of the cyber crime police station at Bandra Kurla Complex in Bombay. After registering the case, the police had taken Hrithik’s laptop and cellphone for investigation. The actor’s lawyer approached senior police officials last December about the pending investigation, after which the case was transferred to the CUI. The CUI had issued summons and asked Hrithik to appear before it and give his statement.
