COURT SLAPS COST OF RS. 20 LAKH ON JUHI CHAWLA IN 5G NETWORK CASE | 4 June, 2021

Not only did the Delhi high court on 2nd June reject Juhi Chawla’s plea against the setting up of 5G wireless networks in the country as being “defective, not maintainable” but it also today (4th June) slapped a cost of Rs. 20 lakh on her, saying that the plea was filed to gain publicity. In support of its inference that the petition was a mere publicity gimmick, the court said that this was evident as Juhi had shared the video conference link for the court hearing on social media, and invited people to attend the hearing.
