‘MIMI’ PIRATED FOUR DAYS BEFORE OFFICIAL RELEASE | 26 July, 2021

Nothing could be more nightmarish for a producer than his film being pirated. And if the piracy happens before the official release, it is a hundred times worse. That, unfortunately, has happened with Jio Studios and Maddock Films’ Mimi. It was scheduled to stream on the two platforms, Jio and Netflix, from 30th July but news comes in that its pirated version is available on Telegram today (26th July).

The legal and technical teams of both the production houses (Jio and Maddock) are moving heaven and earth to take corrective steps and stop the film on the platform which indulges in piracy. It is very likely that the producers will succeed too. For the sake of the film industry, one hopes, they do. The last 16 months have been terrible for the Hindi film industry. This kind of piracy is the last thing one wanted for any Bollywood film.
