Telugu films’ stars Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Ruth Prabhu Akkineni today (2nd October) announced their separation after several weeks of speculation. The rumours that all was not well in the marriage gained more ground about a month back when Samantha dropped ‘Akkineni’ from her name in her Twitter account. The two have decided to go their separate ways and have asked fans and the media to allow them privacy during this difficult time.
Naga’s dad, actor Nagarjuna, also took to social media and said that whatever had happened between Naga and Sam was very unfortunate. He added that what happens between a wife and husband is very personal. He also said in the post that both, Naga and Sam, were very dear to him, and his family would always cherish the moments spent with Sam.
Naga and Samantha, who got married in 2017, were first seen together on screen in Gautham Menon’s Telugu film, Ye Maaya Chesave (2010).
