Ezabella Music & Entertainment’s Tujhich Re… (Marathi; UA; meaning ‘Just yours’) is a love story.
Shalu (Priyanka Yadav) is a rich girl. She falls in love with Peter (Akshay Kambli) who can’t match up to her in status. While Shalu’s father, Patil (Milind Gawali), supports her love affair, her mother, Shanta (Sumukhi Pendse), is totally against the liaison due to religious and class differences. Shanta, who is a strict lady and the head of her family, threatens to have Peter killed. When Peter is, in fact, attacked by Shanta’s goons, Shalu agrees to marry the boy of her mother’s choice. That boy is Kedar who is anything but good.
Shalu goes to meet Peter one last time. The two have physical relations. Then, Shalu gets engaged to Kedar. But after some days, Shanta learns to her horror that Shalu is pregnant with Peter’s child. Shalu tells her mother that that was her plan to defeat her mother’s machinations. What happÂens thereafter?
Samson Gracias has written a clichéd story which does not entertain. Suresh Balmiki’s screenplay is also very routine and affords no exciÂtement whatsoever. The goings-on are so commonplace that the drama turns out to be dull. Ajay Ramdas Rane’s dialogues are just too ordinary.
Priyanka Yadav does a fair job as Shalu. Akshay Kambli is so-so in the role of Peter. Sumukhi Pendse lends good support as Shanta. Milind GawÂali is okay as Patil. Ananda Karyekar and Pratibha Shimpi are adequate.
Pravin Raja’s direction is pathetic. Francis Gigool’s music is below the mark. Lyrics (Samson Gracias, Sagar Khedekar and Ian Hunt) are average. Song picturisations (by Shilpesh Tambe and Prabodhan Pawar) are nothing to shout about. Aniruddha Kale’s background music is ordinary. Raja Phadtare’s camerawork is decent. Keshav Thakur’s sets are commonplace. Prashant Naik’s action and stunts are devoid of thrill. Dinesh Mengade’s editing is loose.
On the whole, Tujhich Re… is a flop show all the way.
