Bengali theatre activist Saoli Mitra passed away at her residence in Calcutta on the afternoon of 16th January at the age of 73. In keeping with the the Sangeet Natak Akademi award winner and Padma Shri Saoli Mitra’s instructions on a stamp paper, the news of her death was made public only after the cremation was over. She had acted in one film — Ritwik Ghatak’s Jukti Tokyo Aar Goppo.
