West Bengal state chief electoral officer Ariz Aftab on 24th April filed an FIR against Union minister and singer Babul Supriyo on the complaint of Trinamool Congress pertaining to the violation of the model code of conduct. The TMC moved the state Election Commission, seeking action against PM Narendra Modi and Babul Supriyo for playing the BJP’s theme song for the state, which was banned by the EC on 17th April.
