Veteran actor Nana Patekar, who breathed his last in the early morning hours yesterday (8th October), was cremated the same day in Pune at his farmhouse, with full state honours.
Nana had reportedly sent a phone message to his friend in Goa in the wee hours (around 2.30 a.m.) of 8th October to inform him that he was feeling discomfort, but the message, unfortunately, remained unread for about an hour. When the friend reached Nana, he was lying unconscious in his house. He was rushed to the hospital where the doctors tried to revive him for almost 45 minutes before declaring him dead.
