Actor Praveen Kumar, best known for his portrayal of Bheem in TV serial Mahabharat, passed away in Delhi yesterday (7th February) following heart attack. He was 74.
Among his other notable films are Shahenshah, Ajooba, Aaj Ka Arjun, Loha and Ghayal.
A sportsman and a four-time champion at the Asian Games, Praveen Kumar had a true spirit of sportsmanship. He never indulged in petty politics, back-biting or criticism. He had also participated in the Mexico and Munich Olympics. He was a hammer and discus thrower. He had been honoured with the Arjuna Award. He worked in the BSF before he entered films.
It may be mentioned here that Praveen Kumar Sobti had contested the Delhi Assembly elections in 2013 on an AAP ticket.
