Mukesh Sahani (Soni), a 38-year-old set designer from Malad in Bombay, who founded the Vikassheel Insaan Party (VIP) five months ago, has now bagged three poll tickets as an ally of Lalu Prasad’s RJD. He will contest the general elections from Khagaria in Bihar. Sahani is seeking reservation for the 21 lakh members of his Nishad community in Bihar, which consists of boatmen and fisherfolk.
Mukesh Sahani, who executes glass and acrylic sets for films, has done sets for films like Devdas, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Kalank. He has worked with top art directors like Nitin Desai and Sabu Cyril. He shifted base to Bihar two years ago.
