Producer-director N. Chandra, actor-producer-director Randhir Kapoor, producer-director and author Rahul Rawail, lyricist Saeed Quadri, studio owner Sanjeev Goenka, international actor and anchor Charles Thomson and film trade analyst and your editor Komal Nahta were honoured at the recently-concluded eighth edition of the Rajasthan International Film Festival in Jodhpur. The Festival commenced on 25th March and concluded on 30th.
The closing ceremony was held on 30th March on the lawns of Jodhpur’s iconic Jaswant Thada, near Mehrangarh Fort. N. Chandra was given a lifetime achievement award for his contribution to cinema. Randhir Kapoor was honoured with the legendary award for excellence. Australian Charles Thomson bagged the international harmony award for his contribution to Indian cinema and television. Sanjeev Goenka, who co-owns Filmistan Studios in Bombay, was given the Pride of Rajasthan award. Song-writer Saeed Quadri was presented the Hasrat Jaipuri award. Rahul Rawail was honoured for his book on late Raj Kapoor — Raj Kapoor: The Master At Work. Film trade analyst Komal Nahta was given the award for outstanding contribution to the business of cinema.
A number of films in various languages were screened during the Festival. All the screenings took place at Inox Ansal Plaza Mall. Several panel discussions were also held as part of the Festival.
