An FIR has been filed against Bollywood singer and composer Rahul Jain for allegedly raping a 30-year-old costume stylist. In her statement to the Oshiwara (Bombay) police, the complainant said that Rahul had contacted her on Instagram and asked her to visit his flat at Andheri in Bombay, saying that he wanted to appoint her as his stylist. When the lady visited him on August 11, Jain is said to have taken her to his bedroom and raped her.
The woman told the police that Jain assaulted her when she resisted him. She has also accused him of trying to destroy evidence. The police filed an FIR under IPC sections 376 (rape), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) and 506 (criminal intimidation). No arrest has been made so far.
Jain rubbished the claims as being fake and said that he didn’t even know the lady. He added that earlier too, a woman had made similar allegations against him, but he had got justice. He alleged that this woman may be an aide of that woman.
