Indian filmmaker Kranti Kanade’s Marathi film, Peepal Tree, has been nominated for the best political film award instituted by the Political Film Society in Hollywood. The PFS was formed in 1986 to honour outstanding films on social issues. The categories of nomination include the best film on democracy, exposé, human rights and peace.
