A filmmaker was kidnapped from Bandra in Bombay on October 16 by three men, two of whom posed as cops and threatened to arrest him in a drugs case. The police have arrested one person while the other two are on the run.
The animation filmmaker, who had been driven to Bandra from South Bombay, got out of the cab around 7 p.m. and tried to hail an autorickshaw as there was a massive traffic jam. Suddenly, two men came up to him posing as cops and said, they needed to interrogate him in a drugs case. They hauled him to a waiting auto, pretending to take him to a police station. Obviously, the auto driver was also hand in glove with them. They drove him to Santacruz East, robbing him of his valuables. The accused abandoned the filmmaker and flew when he shouted for help. One of the accused was caught by the police and was identified as Rehman Momin.
