Nora Fatehi on December 12 filed a criminal defamation complaint against Jacqueline Fernandez, in a Delhi court for allegedly defaming her by “unfairly dragging” her name into the alleged Rs. 200-crore money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar. Nora claimed that Jacqueline made the defamatory statement in her submission before the Prevention of Money-Laundering Act (PMLA) Tribunal in “bad faith” and with “mala fide intention”. The complaint further stated that Jacqueline’s allegations that Nora Fatehi had received gifts from Chandrasekhar were wrong.
Nora Fatehi said, she had received an iPhone and a Gucci bag as gift from Leena Maria Paul, wife of Sukesh, for participating in an event in Madras. She denied receiving a luxury car from Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
Jacqueline Fernandez has been named as an accused in the supplementary chargesheet in the case. She was granted regular bail by the court on November 15, 2022.
