Simultaneous income-tax raids on several industry people on 19th April sent shock waves in the film trade. Raids were conducted on the offices and residences of Manish Shah (Goldmines), Dil Raju (in Hyderabad), Jayantilal Gada, Narendra Hirawat and brothers Vinod and Arvind Bhanushali.
Most of the raids continued on 20th and are on even today (21st). It is after many years that film industry people have been targeted in a major way. Such raids on the Hindi film industry people were common till a decade ago.
