Actor Dinesh Phadnis, known for playing Fredericks in the very popular television serial, C.I.D., passed away today (5th December) at 12.08 a.m. in Bombay at Tunga Hospital due to liver damage and multiple organ failure. He had been put on ventilator support and was critical for the last few days. The damage to Dinesh’s liver was a side-effect of medicines which the actor was taking for some other ailment. He was 57. Dinesh’s funeral took place today.
Dinesh acted in several other TV serials and worked as a police officer in many of them, including Adaalat and Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah (special appearance). Dinesh Phadnis played a man in uniform in films like Sarfarosh and Officer too. He was also seen in Super 30.
