Maharashtra Bhushan, the highest civilian award of Maharashtra state, has been awarded for 2023 to veteran Marathi film and theatre actor Ashok Saraf for his contribution to the field of arts. The announcement of the honouree was made by chief minister Eknath Shinde on January 30.
The award comprises a medal, a citation and Rs. 25 lakh. The award money was increased from Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 25 lakh only last year.
