AFTER ‘KANCHANJANGHA’, ASSAMESE FILM ‘RATNAKAR’ OPENS BIG | 11 October, 2019

Assam distributors Shankar and Siddharth Goenka today (11th October) released Assamese film Ratnakar. It opened to full houses almost all over Assam, prompting exhibitors in the state to reduce the shows of War so that Ratnakar can get more shows. Just recently, the Goenkas released Kanchanjangha which went on to become the biggest ever blockbuster in Assam circuit. Its business surpassed the business of the record-holding Bahubali 2: The Conclusion(dubbed) in Assam circuit. It may be mentioned here that Bahubali 2: The Conclusion had netted Rs. 5 crore in the territory. Kanchanjangha was released only in Assam state because Assamese films have no market in the other parts of the territory, yet it surpassed the collections of the dubbed film.
