BULLETS FIRED OUTSIDE SALMAN KHAN’S HOUSE | 15 April, 2024

Two motorbike-borne men opened fire at Salman Khan’s residence at Bandra in Bombay around 5 a.m. on 14th April. Four empty shells and a live bullet were found. One shell was found in the star’s balcony. The bike was found abandoned near Mount Mary church.

According to the police, the actor, who has Y+ security cover, was at home at the time. The police have increased the security at Galaxy Apartments where Salman lives with his parents.

A Facebook post purportedly by jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi’s brother, Anmol, claimed responsibility for the shootout. The Bishnoi group has since long been vocal against the actor, accusing him of killing a black buck, which the Bishnoi community considers sacred. Just a few months earlier, two men with fake IDs tried to enter Salman’s farmhouse in Panvel.

The Bombay police have formed 15 teams to nab the shooters. They have collected CCTV footage of the firing incident. “The pillion rider had fired bullets,” said an officer. “They asked an autorickshaw driver for directions and after riding further, they abandoned the bike, which appeared to be a stolen one, and fled in another vehicle. Both had worn helmets.”

The Bandra police has filed an attempt to murder case under the Indian Penal Code and have also invoked provisions of the Arms Act. The case has been transferred to the crime branch and a team is camping in Navi Mumbai after getting a strong lead.
