‘TATKSHAN’ REVIEW | 26 April, 2024

Released last week in U.P. (at Kanpur), Bhurv Group’s Tatkshan (UA) is about a murder and its police investigation.

Vaibhav Verma’s story and screenplay are so routine that there is not even a hint of novelty. Scenes are of the kind seen in earlier films and hence the drama becomes predictable to the core. Nothing excites the audience or prompts them to stay invested in the drama. Even Vaibhav Verma’s dialogues are routine.

Vikrant Rai does well as the investigating police officer. Pallavi Singh is ordinary. Gaurav Singh Yadav passes muster. Akanksha Pandey does an average job. Sumit Sagar is so-so. Akash Pandey lends routine support. Ruchi Singh and Muskan Lalwani are passable. Others hardly deserve separate mention.

Vaibhav Verma’s direction is commonplace. His art direction is dull. Charming Boy’s music and Shalini Sajal’s lyrics are functional. Debashish Bhattacharya’s background music is weak. Vivek Sharma and Khushdeep Singh’s cinematography is dull. Vikrant Rai’s action and stunt scenes lack fire. Anurag Singh’s editing is loose.

On the whole, Tatkshan is a flop fare.
