CABSAT, a trade platform focused on buying, selling and exchange of filmed entertainment and audio content for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region, will be held in Dubai at the Dubai World Trade Centre from October 26 to 28, 2021. The CABSAT has a 26-year history. In 2019, it had more than 15,000 visitors, 450-plus exhibitors, and over 11,000 pre-arranged high-level meetings. More than 120 countries were represented at the CABSAT two years back, with over 80 hours of content. This year, there are expected to be over 8,000 attendees. The marketplace would be ideal to buy/sell short films, TV serials, documentaries, films etc.
The MENA region is expected to grow in significance as it may have as many as 32.65 million SVOD subscriptions by 2026, up from 14.16 million recorded at 2020-end. Among the MENA countries, Turkey is expected to remain the market leader by a huge margin. It is expected to have almost 14 million subscriptions by 2026. Nigeria’s video games and TV subscription revenue will push the five-year CAGR to more than 10%.
