NEW RELEASES SHOW SCANT PROMISE

Both, KANGUVA (dubbed) and THE SABARMATI REPORT, opened to ordinary/dull houses on Thursday/Friday… In the rarest of rare cases, a film which was leading in the first week lost to the film which was trailing in its first week. In other words, the tables were turned in 2nd week. SINGHAM AGAIN, which was ahead of BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 in the first (Diwali) week, was overtaken by the latter film in the second week. In the final tally too, BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 is very likely to supersede the collections of SINGHAM AGAIN. The difference may not be huge but when compared with the cost of the two films, the collections of BHOOL BHULAIYAA 3 would turn out to be far better.

Kanguva (dubbed) opened on Thursday (November 14) to dull houses. The big-budget action film netted barely Rs. 3.25 crore on the opening day.

Ella fared miserably in the first week all over.

Singham Again faced a steep drop of 70% in 2nd week. It netted around Rs. 27 crore in the second weekend and another Rs. 17 crore during the weekdays, taking its second week’s total to Rs. 44 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 202.75 crore. Although the film has entered the Rs. 200-crore club, the drop is so alarming that there is not much reason to celebrate.

Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 collections fell 60% in the second week but the collections were still creditable. The film netted Rs. 32 crore in the second weekend and another Rs. 23 crore during the weekdays. In this way, the total for 2nd week was Rs. 55 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 191.50 crore. It will enter the Rs. 200-crore club today (Saturday, November 16) itself.

Venom: The Last Dance (dubbed and the original English versions) collected Rs. 4.50 crore in the third week in spite of the oppositions of Singham Again and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, which is impressive. Grand total for 3 weeks: Rs. 42.60 crore.

Hya Goshtila Navach Nahi (Marathi) fared poorly in 1st week all over Maharashtra.

Manmauji (Marathi) could not do anything noteworthy in the first week in Maharashtra.

Mushak Aakhyan (Marathi) did miserable business in the first week in entire Maharashtra.
