MAHARASHTRA CM TO WRITE TO PM ABOUT NCB’S EXCESSES, TARGETING OF BOLLYWOOD | 27 October, 2021

NCP spokesman and minister Nawab Malik on 26th October said that Maharashtra chief minister Uddhav Thackeray would soon write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the excesses of the Narcotics Control Bureau. After a brief meeting with the CM and home minister Dilip Walse Patil on the recent NCB raids, in which Malik briefed them on the excesses committed by the NCB and how it conducted fake raids, the CM expressed concern over the threat to entire Bollywood following the NCB’s raids.

Nawab Malik added that Bollywood provided jobs to more than a lakh of people. He explained to the chief minister that the NCB had conducted a media trial of at least 25 leading actors in the name of interrogation for their alleged involvement in drug peddling.

On the affidavit filed by Prabhakar Sail, witness in the drugs-on-cruise case, in which Shah Rukh Khan’s son, Aryan Khan, has been arrested along with others, Malik said, it was a serious matter and needed a high-level probe. Sail had alleged a Rs. 25-crore deal in the case. Malik added that Dilip Walse Patil had assured him that the Bombay police would conduct a probe and register an offence. The FIR would be on the incident and not on an individual, he added.
