- Debut-making producer Sahab Raj Nahta and son Lakshya Nahta concluded a massive publicity campaign through a whirlwind tour of Gujarat, for their Gujarati film, Jalso, today (10th June). As a fitting finale, the Nahta father-son duo will hold a star-studded premiere of the film tomorrow in Ahmedabad at PVR Acropolis. Another premiere show will be held on 12th June in Bombay at Cinepolis Andheri. The premiere ‘festival’ will end with a special show — again, star-studded, like the premiere shows in Ahmedabad and Bombay — in Surat at Roongta Cinemas.
The lion-hearted Sahab Raj, who is a staunch disciple of Dwarkadhish, took his entire star cast to Dwarka on 7th June to seek blessings for the film slated for release on 13th. Aroona Irani (with husband Kuku Kohli), Bhavin Bhanushali, Puja Joshi, Dharmesh Vyas, Hemang Dave, Morli Patel, Hiten Tejwani, Gauri Pradhan, Geetanjali Pradhan, Kurush Deboo, Jay Patel, Ishita Shirsath and Nirav Patel, besides director Rajiv Ruia and production manager Deepak Ruia, reached Dwarka on 6th/7th for special darshan on 7th. After offering prayers at the Dwarkadhish temple, the entourage moved to Rukmini temple to offer prayers there. Malhar Thakar, who recently got married to Puja Joshi, was the surprise guest at Dwarka.
The first leg of promotion was in Jamnagar where the cast, besides giving media interviews, visited Apeksha Foundation for disabled children and distributed merchandise of the film on 8th. After Jamnagar, the unit proceeded to Rajkot where media interactions were held. The next stop was Bhavnagar on 9th. The enthusiastic cast members were at their wittiest and funniest best in their interactions with members of the fourth estate. After a hectic two days of promotional activities, the unit reached Ahmedabad on the night of 9th June. Although very tired, the unit was in great spirits as they celebrated the 27th birthday of the film’s hero, Bhavin Bhanushali who makes his Gujarati debut with Jalso.

A drive to Mehsana this morning (9th) saw the media persons there interview the stars of the film. On their return to Ahmedabad after a few hours, it was time for the cast to field questions from the Ahmedabad press. This also marked the completion of the media briefings.
The cast, all relaxing in Ahmedabad currently, now waits with bated breath for the grand premiere tomorrow where actors Utsav Naik and Sonali Lele Desai will join the rest of the cast. Before the premiere show at 9 p.m., a special media interaction will be held on Akshar Cruise on the Sabarmati riverfront. It may be mentioned here that the title song of the film was picturied on the same Akshar Cruise, besides the Atal bridge.
Meanwhile, Gujarat distributor Vandan Shah and his team in Ahmedabad, and Raju Vasani and his team of Paras Publicity in Bombay are working tirelessly to give the film a memorable release on 13th in Gujarat, Saurashtra and Bombay city and suburbs.
P.S.: Meanwhile, Sahab Raj Nahta can’t stop thanking Dwarkadhish because his deal for the OTT rights of the film was clinched no sooner than he returned to Ahmedabad from Dwarka. The digital platform rights have been acquired by Jojo. So after its theatrical run, the Jojo platform can exhort the public to watch the film by saying, “Jalso jojo… only on Jojo!”
