Sanya Malhotra injured the little finger of her left hand in a freak accident with her blender on 14th May. The accident left a portion of her little finger sliced off and hanging loose at one end. She was using the blender to make chutney when the lid flew off. In trying to put the lid back, her hand slipped into the whirring jar and blood gushed out. Since Sanya was alone at home (she lives alone while her family is in Delhi), she telephoned a friend who rushed her to a suburban hospital. The diagnosis revealed that she suffered two fractures, one dislocation and two-three major cuts on her fingers. The actress had to undergo immediate surgery.
After Sanya was discharged from hospital, her friend moved in with her. The actress was already recovering from a back and neck injury.
