SURANAS OF JAIPUR’S RAJ MANDIR CINEMA LODGE F.I.R. | 28 July, 2020

News that the Suranas had sold their Raj Mandir Cinema of Jaipur has been doing rounds of social media and WhatsApp. Some news items mention that the sale had been made to the Miraj group of cinemas. It is not clear from where the news emanated but it is completely false as no such sale has taken place. In fact, there hasn’t even been a discussion about this between the Suranas and any other party including the Miraj group.

Irked by the fake news, the Surana family has lodged an FIR against the fake news. Raj Mandir was known as the pride of Jaipur when multiplexes had not made the scene. In fact, for many years, the single-screen cinema was a tourist attraction. The cinema boasted of coloured lighting in the auditorium, which used to change to different hues. Perfume used to also be sprayed in the auditorium in every single show during the screening of films, as an added attraction.
