‘TANDAV’: SEERS, U.P. GOVT. NOT HAPPY WITH MERE APOLOGY | 22 January, 2021

The seer community in Hardwar has demanded strict action against the makers of web series Tandav and rejected the apology offered by them for allegedly hurting religious sentiments. The seers described the objectionable scenes as an organised effort by filmmakers to malign the Hindu community and termed the trend ‘cinema jihad’. Uttar Pradesh deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya on 20th January said that people hurting Hindu religious sentiments will have to face strict legal action. He tweeted that the producers, director and actors of Tandav were trying to disrupt social harmony and destroy unity. He added that they were guilty of hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus.
