TELUGU ORIGINAL TO RELEASE ON YOUTUBE TWO WEEKS BEFORE ‘SHEHZADA’ | 1 February, 2023

Manish Shah, who holds the dubbing rights of Telugu blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, of which Shehzada is a remake, will release the Hindi dubbed version of the original on YouTube tomorrow (2nd February). Meanwhile, the theatrical release of Shehzada has been postponed by a week so that it will now hit the screens on 17th February as Pathaan is being perceived as a formidable opposition. Pathaan will enter its fourth week on 17th February.

For those who came in late, the producers of Shehzada paid Manish Shah a hefty amount to stop him from releasing the Hindi dubbed version of Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo in cinemas. When this settlement took place (when Shehzada was still being shot), the impact of uploading a film on YouTube was not felt. It is after the Saif-Hrithik starrer Vikram Vedha (which was a remake of the Tamil super-hit of the same name) bombed at the box-office and didn’t even take a start that the trade realised that the Hindi dubbed versions of South originals are being consumed big time on YouTube and this can adversely impact South remakes.
