Veteran singer Bhupinder Singh breathed his last this evening (18th July) at Criti Care Hospital in Bombay. He was 82. He had been suffering from several health issues including colon cancer. The singer had been admitted to hospital ten days back. He got infected with COVID-19 while in hospital and had to be put on ventilator. The end came in the evening around 7.45 p.m.
Bhupinder Singh was known for his bass voice. He had sung songs for films like Mausam, Satte Pe Satta, Doooriyaan, Ahista Ahista, Haqeeqat and other films. Some of his popular songs are Dil dhoondhta hai, Dukki pe dukki ho ya satte pe satta, Do deewane sheher mein, Beeti na beetai raina, Naam gum jaayega, Huzoor iss kadar bhi na itra ke chaliye, Kisi nazar ko tera intezaar aaj bhi hai and Hoke major mujhe usne bulaya hoga. It is said that the guitar in the superhit Dum maaro dum song from Hare Rama Hare Krishna was played by Bhupinder Singh.
