A Christian group on 14th November submitted a complaint to the commissioner of police and the Agripada police (in Bombay) against Vipul K. Rawal, director of Tony, on the grounds that its poster and trailer hurt the religious sentiments of the members of the Christian community. No FIR was registered.

The group, Christian Reform United People’s Association, said that the trailer could create animosity in the community. It demanded registration of an FIR under section 295 (A) of the IPC.
