The Mumbai Heritage Conservation Committee (MHCC) has written to the state urban development department that the gate of Raj Kapoor’s iconic R.K. Studios should be protected and preserved. The studio was sold by the Kapoor family to the Godrej group for the construction of a housing complex.
The issue was brought to the notice of the MHCC by one Asha Marathe who wrote a letter asking for the insignia on the gate of the studio to be preserved as a national treasure.
