Good Idea Films and Spunk Productions’ Aayushmati Geeta Matric Pass (UA) is the story of a girl who wants to fulfil her father’s dream of seeing her pass her SSC examinations.
Geeta (Kashika Kapoor) fails in her SSC examinations. But her progressive father wants his daughter to clear her examinations and, if possible, study further. This, in a small village where the girl and her family have to even face opposition from the villagers for their progressive outlook. For this reason, the father even turns down a marriage proposal that he gets for his daughter. However, the prospective groom, Kundan (Anuj Saini), is as progressive in his outlook as Geeta’s father. How he helps Geeta pass her examinations before marrying her, in the process even antagonising his own mother, forms the crux of the drama.
Navnitesh Singh has written a well-meaning story which has its heart in the right place. His screenplay, with additional screenplay by Pradip Khairwar and Kabir Kevall, is fair. It has its moments but it also gets boring at times. Navnitesh Singh’s dialogues, with additional dialogues by Pradip Khairwar and Kabir Kevall, are quite alright.
Kashika Kapoor is so-so as Geeta. Anuj Saini is okay in the role of Kundan. Atul Srivastava performs ably as Vidyadhar Tripathi. Alka Amin makes her mark as Malti. Pranay Dixit entertains with his comedy in the role of Kundan’s friend, Bunty. Priyanka Malviya is alright as Kundan’s sister, Kusum. Vinod Suryavanshi is passable as Chaman. Swapnil Raut lends average support as Lakhan. Others provide routine support.
Pradip Khairwar’s direction is so-so. But a more heartfelt narration would’ve helped. Sanjay Anand Jha’s music is quite nice. Lyrics (Kabir Kevall, Sanjiv Anand Jha and Vijay Narendra Shinde) are okay. Abhinay Jagtap’s background music is alright. Shanu Singh Rajput and Pappu Singh Rajput’s cinematography is reasonably nice. Shahzad Ansari’s production designing is fair. Som Chavan and Manoj Kale’s editing is quite sharp.
On the whole, Aayushmati Geeta Matric Pass is an average fare but its box-office prospects are bleak because of complete absence of face value.
