Bharat Dev Varma, husband of actress Moon Moon Sen and father of actresses Raima and Riya Sen, passed away today (19th November) at his residence in Calcutta after a prolonged illness. He was 83.
Bharat Dev Varma came from the Tripura royal family and kept a low profile despite his family’s strong ties with the film industry. West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee condoled his demise and remembered him as a “great well-wisher”.
