Rita Anchan, the lead actress of the ’80s Kannada film, Parasangada Gendethimma, passed away on 13th November in Bangalore. She played the role of Marakani in the film. She had worked in several films with late actor Lonkesh. Besides South Indian language films, mostly Kannada, she had acted in Hindi, Punjabi and Gujarati films too. She was 68 and had been battling health issues since some years.
Rita Anchan had acted in many notable films including Kora Badan, Ladki Jawan Ho Gayi, Aap Se Pyar Hua, Sandarbha, and Farz Aur Pyar. It was her role as Marakani in Parasangada Gendethimma which made her very popular among fans, and earned her several awards. After marrying Radhakrishna Manchigaiah, she lived in Bangalore, where they had a son and a daughter.
