The 5th Marathi International Film Festival (MIFF), presented by the Indian Arts & Culture Corporation (IACC), was held as part of the New Jersey Indian & International Film Festival (NJIIFF) on March 29, 2026. The event, hosted at the ITV Gold Auditorium in Edison, New Jersey, drew a strong response from the audience.
Avadhti Goshta, which marks television actress Sai Deodhar’s debut as a director, won the best feature film award, while Raada, a short film directed by Anuj Jamadagni and Varun Chounal, was honoured in the short film category. Aditya Arvind Chavan walked away with the best director award for Drushti.
The feature film category also saw Krishnaraj Waingade winning the best male actor for Chikeezing, Archita Naik winning the best female actor for Drushti, and Sachin Patil bagging the award for the best writer for Gaav Bolavto.
MIFF serves as a platform dedicated to celebrating Marathi cinema and storytelling, bringing regional narratives to wider global audience. This year, the festival received submissions from filmmakers across the globe, reflecting the growing international presence of Marathi cinema.
