REVENUE SHARING IN TELUGU FILM INDUSTRY: STATUS QUO FOR 2 MONTHS | 15 May, 2026

Producers of Telugu films have asked exhibitors in Telangana to exempt 17 big-budged under-production films being made with top stars, in their dispute regarding revenue-sharing. Since a sub-committee of producers, distributors and exhibitors was formed today (May 15) by the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce to study the issue and give a report within two months, exhibitors have been asked to screen the due-for-release films on existing terms.

It means that all films hitting the screens till at least mid-July will be screened by exhibitors at the old terms and not under the 60-50-40 formula being advocated by them.

The stage, therefore, seems set for Ram Charan starrer Peddi which is slated for release on June 5.
