Drishyam: The Conclusion swept the box-office in its first week. After the flying start on Friday (2nd October), it sustained supremely well throughout the weekend. The film netted an amazing Rs. 62 crore on the first day (2nd October), thanks partly to the tremendous brand value of Drishyam, and partly to the national holiday on 2nd October. The collection figure for Saturday was a fantastic Rs. 52 crore. Despite the national holiday on Friday, collections dropped less than 20% on Saturday. The total for Sunday — Rs. 60.50 crore — was also excellent. After a first weekend total of Rs. 174.50 crore, collections on the weekdays were as follows: Monday – Rs. 21 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 20 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 15 crore, Thursday- Rs. 13 crore. In this way, the film netted Rs. 69 crore in the weekdays, taking the first week’s total to Rs. 243.50 crore. It is anybody’s guess that after joining the Rs. 100-crore club on the second day, and the Rs. 200-crore club on the fifth day, it will join the Rs. 300-crore club before the second week closes.

Prem Keetanu bombed in the first week, recording miserable collections. It was actually a non-starter. It could barely manage to net Rs. 1 crore in the first week.

Doraemon: Castle Of The Undersea Devil (animation; dubbed versions) did well in the first week. The film collected approximately Rs. 8 crore in the first weekend, and another Rs. 5 crore during the weekdays. Therefore, the first week closed at Rs. 13 crore.

The Vvaan dropped almost 80% in the second week. The second weekend commenced with a take of Rs. 3.10 crore on Friday. Collections on Saturday and Sunday were lower than on Friday because of the boost the film got on Friday owing to the Gandhi Jayanti holiday. While Saturday closed at Rs. 1.95 crore, the total for Sunday was Rs. 2.75 crore. Hence the second weekend closed at Rs. 7.80 crore. Collections on the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 0.75 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.60 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.50 crore. Therefore, the total for the weekdays was Rs. 2.85 crore. In this way, the second week closed at Rs. 10.65 crore. Grand total for 2 weeks: Rs. 59.65 crore.

Hanuman Ansh managed to stand its own even in the ninth week, in the face of the formidable opposition of last week’s new release, Drishyam: The Conclusion. It joined the Rs. 300-crore club on the first day of the ninth week when it collected Rs. 2.40 crore. Collections on Saturday totalled Rs. 2 crore (less than the first day because Friday was a national holiday on account of Gandhi Jayanti and hence collections of all films were better than they would’ve been on a normal Friday). The total for Sunday was Rs. 2.80 crore. Hence the ninth weekend closed at Rs. 7.20 crore. Collections for the weekdays were: Monday – Rs. 0.80 crore, Tuesday – Rs. 1 crore, Wednesday – Rs. 0.75 crore, Thursday – Rs. 0.70 crore. With the total for the weekdays being Rs. 3.25 crore, the ninth week closed at Rs. 10.45 crore. Grand total for 9 weeks: Rs. 308.58 crore.

Aali Mothi Shahani (Marathi) failed to make the cut in the first week all over Maharashtra.
