Actor Ismail Khan on 19th July surrendered before the Andheri magistrate’s court in Bombay after he was accused of planting a camera inside a cosmetologist’s clinic and shooting a video of her while she was treating a patient, and later threatening and defaming her by telling her friend that she was having an affair with her patients, judging by how she was touching them. He was later released on bail.
Ismail and the cosmetologist knew each other but had had a fallout. The cosmetologist has clarified that in her profession, she had to touch patients.
The police registered an FIR under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Information Technology Act for defamation, criminal intimidation, outraging the modesty of a woman and for violation of privacy.
