Right-wing supporters of the Modi government on 26th July rebutted a letter, signed by 49 celebrities, to the prime minister against the lynchings of Muslims and Dalits, calling their outrage selective and one built on false narratives. The supporters included Biswajit, Kangana Ranaut, Madhur Bhandarkar, Prasoon Joshi, Vivek Agnihotri, Pallavi Joshi, Ashok Pandit and Manoj Joshi. These Modi supporters rushed a letter to PM Narendra Modi to counter the claims made in the letter signed by 49 people including Aparna Sen, Konkona Sen Sharma, Shyam Benegal, Adoor Gopalakrishnan, Mani Ratnam and Anurag Kashyap. The earlier letter had said, ‘Jai Shri Ram’ had almost become like a war cry.
