AFTER SHOOTING SUSPENSION, GUILD PLANS FUNDS FOR CINE WORKERS | 18 March, 2020

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) and various associations of producers ordered suspension of shootings of films, television serials and web series from 19th March as a precautionary measure to arrest the spread of the coronavirus. While many film shootings came to a halt from 16th and some producers cancelled their shootings on 14th itself, TV serials will stop shooting from 19th.

The cancellation of shootings will hit the daily wage workers in the industry very badly as no shootings would mean no income for them. The Producers Guild Of India on 17th March announced that it would set up a Relief Fund for daily wage earners impacted by the complete shutdown of shootings owing to the COVID-19 epidemic. The Fund has sought contributions from the people of the film industry.
