The Central Circuit Cine Association (CCCA) has written a letter to the Rajasthan chief minister, demanding a relief package for the ailing exhibition sector in the state. Satyavan Pareek, on behalf of the CCCA, said in the letter that the lockdown had put cinema owners to huge losses. Reviving cinema business would warrant a lot of financial aid and concessions from the government, the letter explains. It has also sought an early reopening of cinemas in the state. Rajasthan is one of the few states in the country, where cinemas have not yet restarted.
The CCCA has also sought a directive by the government to cinemas to compulsorily screen Rajasthani films in at least a fixed minimum number of shows, whether single-screen or multiplex. It also wants the state government to grant subsidy to Rajasthani film producers with a view to encouraging Rajasthani cinema.
