‘MEERA MATHUR’ | 12 February, 2021

Released this week in Gujarat, Saurashtra and Maharashtra, RKB Productions, Kartik Films, Movie N Movie and Taj Dreams Entertainment’s Meera Mathur (A) is the story of a married couple.

Meera Mathur (Khushi Rajput) and Darpan Mathur (Ashwin Kapoor) are a married couple. Darpan is an officer in a company. Since Meera is unable to bear a child, the two are very unhappy. Despite the fact that Darpan is at fault, he tries to put the blame on Meera. One day, Meera meets Kartik (Allen Kapoor). Her life changes once she comes in contact with Kartik as she sees a new ray of hope in her life with Kartik. What happens thereafter?

Rahul Kumar Singh’s story is as hackneyed as can be. His screenplay is also very dull and devoid of freshness. Sabha Verma’s dialogues are weak.

Khushi Rajput does a very ordinary job and is hardly impressive in the title role. Ashwin Kapoor is average as Darpan Mathur. Allen Kapoor delivers a routine performance in the role of Kartik. Raman Agnihotri lends dull support. Others hardly pass muster.

Rahul Kumar Singh’s direction is rather poor. Vivek Bakshi’s music is functional. Lyrics are dull. Ishak Khan’s choreography needs no separate mention. Background music (by Vishal Sharma) is ordinary. Shakti Soni’s camerawork is routine. Action scenes (choreographed by Dilip Yadav) lack thrill. Production designing (Purushottam Hegde and Ravis Gupta) and art direction (Chetan Chudasama and Iqbalbhai) are hardly of standard. Rohit Kumar Singh’s editing leaves a lot to be desired.

On the whole, Meera Mathur is a flop show all the way.
