Apropos the Being Human controversy, for which the Chandigarh police has summoned Salman Khan, his sister, Alvira, and others of Being Human, it has been clarified by Style Quotient Jewellery Pvt. Ltd. that it is not a controversy involving Being Human in the first place. SQPL has explained that it (SQPL) was appointed the global licensee for the jewellery vertical of Being Human – The Salman Khan Foundation in December 2015. It was so appointed for handling the manufacturing and sales of jewellery under the brand name of Being Human. On 3rd August, 2018, SQPL signed an MoU with Arun Gupta’s Modern Jewels to be the first franchisee of Being Human Jewellery. It may be recalled that Arun Gupta has filed the complaint with the Chandigarh police.
SQPL has, therefore, clarified that the current matter is actually between SQPL and Modern Jewels as neither Being Human – The Salman Khan Foundation, Salman Khan, Alvira Khan nor any other representative of the Foundation are parties to the said MoU and they have nothing to do with it. In fact, Salman Khan is only the owner of brand Being Human and not even a trustee of the Being Human Foundation.
An official statement to the above effect was issued by SQPL on 9th July (today).
