BOMBAY HC ADJOURNS INVESCO’S APPEAL IN ZEE CASE | 29 October, 2021

A division bench of the Bombay high court today (October 29) adjourned the hearing in Invesco Developing Markets Fund’s plea which challenged the injunction order by a single judge bench of the same court. The bench of Justices S.J. Kathawala and Milind Jadhav posted the hearing to November 29. Parallelly, the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), where Invesco has filed a petition seeking direction to Zee to convene an extraordinary general meeting to oust Managing Director and CEO Punit Goenka, adjourned the matter till November 16.

Invesco, the largest shareholder of Zee, approached the Bombay high court yesterday (October 28) to challenge the injunction order passed by Justice G.S. Patel, in a petition filed by Zee against Invesco. The injunction order had restrained Invesco from taking any action with regard to its EGM requisition notice of September 11, 2021 to Zee.
