Javed Akhtar campaigned for JNU students’ union president Kanhaiya Kumar in Begusarai in Bihar on 23rd April. Actor Prakash Raj also took part in the campaigning on 20th April. Swara Bhasker addressed a rally of Kanhaiya Kumar after he filed his nomination. The JNU leader is pitted against Union minister and BJP leader Giriraj Singh in the general elections.
