Bollywood personalities gathered at Bombay’s Islam Gymkhana on 24th April and expressed their support for the Congress-NCP candidates in Maharashtra. The meeting followed an appeal issued by 70-odd signatories, urging citizens to vote to “defend the Constitution and nurture the very idea of India”. Among the Bollywood celebrities at the meeting were writer Anjum Rajabali, Saeed Mirza, Shabana Azmi, Swara Bhasker, writer Vinay Shukla and lyricist Hasan Kamal, besides documentary filmmaker Anand Patwardhan and activist Firoz Mithiborewala.
