Andhra Pradesh becomes the latest state to allow its cinemas to operate at full capacity. All the state governments had ordered cinemas to operate at less than full capacity (50% or 70%) due to the outbreak of the Omicron virus in the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. In view of the falling number of Omicron cases, states, one by one, are now permitting cinemas to work at cent per cent capacity.
The states which have so far granted cinemas permission to function at full capacity are Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, Assam and Andhra Pradesh.
